    • 1). Take a piece of paper and divide it into three sections. In each section draw a different angle of your brick design. In the top right hand corner, draw a side perspective of your brick. To the left, draw a birds eye view to show the depth of the brick. In the center draw an end on view of your brick.

    • 2). Draw a simple rectangular brick. Since we are drawing a simple brick design, use a ruler to create straight lines and a simple rectangular brick shape. Label and measure your bricks measurements and note that this brick will be red and made from the material clay.

    • 3). Follow the above method and sketch a flint stone brick. Draw a jagged rectangular shape for the side view of your brick, sketch a wonky circular shape for a view of the brick from the top and a jagged stone shape for the side. Flint bricks cannot be placed directly together but are often cemented into concrete so be sure to note this in your design analysis.

    • 4). Sketch a large salt brick which are good bricks to use for isolation in cold areas. Simple in design, sketch a large square in all three sections of your paper and highlight the features of designing a salt brick. Salt is an interesting design tool and will offer something different and unique to a simple red brick design.

    • 5). Design a slim and small red clay brick. Draw a slim rectangle to show the side angle view, a birds eye view design should include the same shape but wider and with three circles in the center to create air inside of the brick. Color in these bricks with various shades of reds, oranges and browns.

    • 6). Experiment with designing a variety of different types of bricks made from different materials. Color in your designs to reflect each material and highlight the different features of using certain types of bricks.
