    • 1). Pop the hood and locate the service bolt on the fuel rail, which is towards the front of the engine. Use a line wrench and an open-end wrench to loosen the bolt and allow the excess fuel pressure to dissipate from the system. Open the gas door and remove the gas cap at the same time.

    • 2). Unbolt the top and bottom bolts from the fuel filter on the firewall using the line wrench. Then unbolt the fuel filter from the bracket on the firewall using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket.

    • 3). Bolt the replacement fuel filter into the bracket using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Reconnect the bottom fuel line using a line wrench.

    • 4). Bolt the top fuel line into the top of the fuel filter, and make sure that the washers included in the fuel filter kit are on either side of the fuel line itself. From top to bottom, you should have the bolt, a washer, the fuel line, another washer and then the fuel filter.

    • 5). Reinstall the gas cap and start the engine. Check for leaks and if there are any, tighten up the lines using the line wrenches.
