How to Make Memories With Stitched Tin Tiles
- 1). Cut a photograph so that it fits in the center of the stitched tin tile while leaving the holes at the edges of the tile exposed.
- 2). Attach the photo to the center of the tin tile with double-sided tape.
- 3). Center the stitched tin tile on a piece of fabric. Attach the tile to the fabric with a dot of glue from a glue gun on the back of the tile.
- 4). Sew the tin tile to the fabric with brightly colored embroidery floss, using the holes in the outer edge of the tile.
- 5). Trim the fabric to the desired size and glue it into your scrapbook with craft glue, or mat and frame the fabric square to display the photo.
- 1). Wipe the stitched tin tile with a clean cloth to remove any fingerprints from the surface of the tile.
- 2). Write an important date or memory onto the tile using an embossing pen. These pens release a slow-drying ink that is meant to be used with embossing powder.
- 3). Sprinkle embossing powder over the wet ink to completely cover the center of the tin tile. Tilt the tile to pour off the excess embossing powder. The powder will stick to your writing to highlight the information on the tile.
- 4). Heat the embossing powder with a heat gun until the powder becomes shiny. This means that the embossing powder has melted and is permanently attached to the tile.
