  MTD lawn mowers need maintenance after years of cutting the lawn, carrying brush and plowing snow. MTD makes replacement parts for its lawn mowers. The cost for these parts ranges from $20 for a blade to $70 for a tire, plus shipping. These parts are easy to put on and will help preserve the mower.
  
  

Drive Belts

• The drive belts are divided by the deck size--the longer the deck is, the bigger the belt it needs. Thirty-eight-inch decks need belt 954-04062. Forty-two-inch decks require the belt 954-04060B. Forty-six-inch decks require two belts. The upper drive belt is 954-04142, and the lower drive belt is 954-0349.
  
  

Blades

• Each deck size requires a different blade. Thirty-eight-inch decks take blade 942-0610A. Forty-two-inch decks take the 942-0616A blade. Forty-six-inch decks need two blades. The center blade is 942-0612A, and the outer blade is 942-0611A.
  
  

Tires

• Front tires are sized at 15" x 6" x 6". There are two different connectors, round and square. The round shoulder is 734-04240A. and the square shoulder is 734-1731. Rear tires are 20" x 8 x 8 and are separated by the round and square version as well. The round shoulder is 734-04241 and the squared shoulder is 734-1730.
