How to Adjust the Headlights on a 1991 Civic

    • 1). Park the Civic at least 25 feet in front of a closed garage door or wall.

    • 2). Open the hood and turn on the headlights.

    • 3). Turn the small hex-shaped adjustment screws on the backside of the headlight housing assembly to adjust the headlights using a Phillips head screwdriver. The center of the headlight beam should be positioned at the bottom of the garage door or wall where it meets the ground. The headlights should also overlap each other by 50 percent and be pointed directly in front of the Civic. The direction you need to turn each screw will depend on the initial position of the headlights prior to adjustment. You may not notice any headlight movement unless you are turning the screws at least one full turn in either direction.
