How to Copy & Paste on a PC
- 1). Locate the text or image you want to copy. Use the mouse to move the cursor directly on top of the text.
- 2). Observe what happens to the text. If it is underlined then the text has already been selected. Right click the mouse button and you will see a menu pop up. Scroll down till you see the word "copy". Click that word and you are done with copying. Feel free to move the cursor anywhere you like until you arrive at the destination, where you will be pasting.
- 3). Left-click your mouse, and slowly drag it over the text you wish to copy. Keep your finger on the button as you drag. Once you are finished lift your finger off of the mouse button. Be sure everything you need to copy is highlighted. Use this technique if your text does not automatically underline. You can also double click on a phrase instead of dragging over it, for shorter text.
- 4). Right click the mouse button until you see the word "copy," and click on it as described in step one. Move the cursor to where you want to paste. Please note that it does not matter which way you select the text you need to copy. It all depends on the program, website or software you are using but the "copying" is done the same way.
- 5). Position the cursor exactly where you want to paste your text. When you are ready right click the mouse, and you will get the pop up menu box again, instead of "copy" you will the word "Paste" highlighted in bold in its place.
- 6). Click the word "Paste" and you will see the text is filled in. Edit anything you need at this time. It is safe to use delete or backspace if you need to.
- 1). Use the arrow keys to place the cursor next to the text you wish to copy.
- 2). Hold down the control key "Ctrl" located either on the bottom right, or left hand side of the keyboard. Either one is fine to use.
- 3). Tap the "A" button on the keyboard and notice the text has been highlighted. Place the cursor where you want to copy your text.
- 4). Hold down the "Ctrl" key again; follow step two. Tap the "V" button this time, and you will have pasted your text into the new destination. Feel free to edit if necessary.
