How to Make a Quiz Using PowerPoint
- 1). Open PowerPoint. A single blank slide with two placeholder text boxes appears on the screen. Click into the "Click to add title" box and type the name of the quiz, such as "Cat Breeds Accepted by the Cat Fancier's Association."
- 2). Click into the placeholder "Click to add subtitle" box and type additional information, such as "Required to attain master status" or "Given Tuesday, October 20, 2010." To remove the subtitle box from the slide, click once on it and press the "Delete" key on the keyboard.
- 3). Click the image of the slide in the column on the left side of the screen. Press the "Enter" key on the keyboard to add a new slide. A quiz-style slide is automatically added to the slide deck and appears on the main pane of the workspace.
- 4). Type directly over the "Click to add title" text box with the first quiz question, such as "What breed of cat was originally used as mousers on sailing ships?"
- 5). Click your cursor on the placeholder bullet of the slide, which says "Click to add text." Type the first suggested quiz answer for a multiple choice question. After typing the phrase or sentence, press the "Enter" key on the keyboard to add a bulleted line. Add multiple choice answers as desired.
- 6). Repeat the process to add slides to the slide deck by clicking once on the last slide in the list, pressing the "Enter" key and typing over the placeholder slide text.
- 7). Create a single question slide, without the multiple choice part, by typing into the "Click to add title" box with the quiz question. Click once on the "Click to add text" bullet text box below the title and press the "Delete" key, removing the text box from the screen.
- 8). Highlight the words in the quiz question and click the "Home" tab at the top of the screen. Use the controls in the "Font" section of the ribbon/toolbar to increase the font size -- making it easier for the audience to see -- and to change the font and text color.
- 9). Add quiz question slides by pressing the "Enter" key. PowerPoint will add the same kind of slide each time, mimicking the slide you have highlighted when you press the "Enter" key. These will have just the single title box for your quiz question.

Click the "File" tab, click "Save As," type a name for the quiz and save it to your computer.
