How to Decorate Chairs

    • 1). Measure the top rail of your chair's back. Cut a strip of fabric that is three to four times this length and 2 to 4 inches wide. Dot a drop of super glue on the top of the far right end of the cross rail.

    • 2). Wrap one end of the piece of fabric tightly around the far right end of the top rail covering the drip. Twist the remaining portion of fabric loosely in your hands and continue to wrap it around the top rail in a tight spiral. You will be wrapping the fabric so tightly and closely that you will be unable to see any portion of the wood from the top rail.

    • 3). Cut the fabric so that there is only 1 inch left when you get to the far left end. Tuck this 1 inch piece in and under the fabric to the right of it. Dot a drop of super glue underneath this piece of fabric so that it doesn't unravel and remains adhered to the wood of the chair. Repeat this entire process with the cross rail.

    • 4). Select a tie-back chair cushion pad that matches or contrasts the color of fabric that you used. Place it on the seat of the chair and tie each end of the cushion to a rear leg in a knot or bow.
