Tailenders and Affirmations When Using EFT Tapping

You've probably become more aware of affirmations since the movie The Secret became a hit.
Affirmations are positive statements said in the present tense to bring about powerful changes in a person's life.
Affirmations can be about changes you wish to see on a physical level; such as weight, how you wish to live your life; such as diet and exercise, or vacations, financial prosperity; such as how much you wish to earn on an annual basis, or how many rental properties you'd like to own.
Some people have affirmations of a spiritual nature, others are about motivation.
Over the years I have seen some people make huge changes in their lives once starting to use affirmations.
With others, I've seen them give up on their dreams as unfortunately their affirmations haven't come to fruition.
So why would affirmations work for some and not others? Gary Craig and Donna Eden explain how this can be so in the book The Promise of Energy Psychology; they refer to them as tailenders.
What they are referring to are affirmations that are stated and then quickly followed by that little voice inside of you that denies that the affirmations could ever come true.
An example of this is a lady called Susan who has an affirmation that says "I happily weigh 60 kg".
This is quickly followed by her inner voice saying "Don't be ridiculous Susan you'll never lose that much weight, after all, your mother is fat and so are your siblings.
In other words the belief that Susan is holding in her subconscious is that she will always remain fat because its heredity.
So how do we change the belief? By using EFT Tapping to tap on the "tailender.
" A suitable tapping phrase for the above example could be; "Even though I'm convinced I'll always be fat because the truth is my mother and siblings are fat so therefore I always will be, I love and accept myself" If you are not having success with some of your affirmations explore the possibilities of what your subconscious belief around it could be.
Say the affirmation out loud and then listen to anything your inner voice says afterwards.
That will be your clue.
Then tap the old belief away and step back and wait for the results! Affirmations can be extremely powerful - just remove the tailender first.
Try using EFT tapping and affirmations combined in different areas of your life and see your life change for the better.
