When to End a Long Term Relationship
Good to stay, but bad to leave.
One of the worst types of long term relationships is an average long term relationship.
You get along with your partner, you enjoy spending the holidays together.
You spend time, have friends.
Let's say, a 6 or 7 out of 10.
You do not really fight with one another, you understand that the other person is a blessing, however, something is missing.
What is missing is true love.
In an average relationship, much of the time, one person is in love, and the other person just has "feeling".
What makes this the worst kind of relationship is that it creates a level of complacency.
A bad relationship is self destructive, and usually ends quickly on its own.
A wonderful relationship is something you would never want to end, it is loving and nurturing.
An average relationship, is just a drawn out waster of time for both parties.
The person who has feelings, but is not truly in love with the other person, is paralyzed with fear of being alone.
The relationship they have is average, but not great.
Breaking up that relationship, will result in two things.
Being alone again, or being alone again and finding someone new.
The lack of a guarantee of finding someone new is what keeps them where they are.
This relationship is bad for the person who is in love for obvious reasons.
They are in love with someone who does not feel the same.
They do not know this though, they are being strung along by the other person.
It can be tough to adjust back to single status again.
You need to attract a new partner, but your in a better spot of being able to find someone new as a single person, than as a person in a long term relationship It is OK to date someone for a while, but have the courage to end a long term relationship if your not truly in love with the other person, both of you will both be much much happier in time.
