1994 Chevy P/U Ignition Switch Installation
- 1). Unbolt the trim panel underneath the steering column using the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket and pull it away from the dash. Unbolt the trim panel around the steering column with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
- 2). Unbolt the turn signal switch and buzzer switch from the steering column with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket, then let them hang from the column. Unbolt the lock cylinder screw from the lock cylinder with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket, then pull it away from the column.
- 3). Unbolt the steering column from the dashboard with the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket and lower the column. Unbolt the dimmer switch from the column with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket. Verify that the ignition switch is in the Off-Lock position, and if necessary, put the key in the switch to ensure that it's in that spot. Unbolt the ignition switch from the column with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket, and then pull the switch away from the column.
- 4). Make sure the replacement ignition switch is in the Off-Lock position. Install the switch on the column with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket. Reinstall the dimmer switch on the column with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket, then bolt the column to the dashboard with the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket.
- 5). Reinstall the buzzer switch and the turn signal switch with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket, then reinstall the lock cylinder with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket. Reinstall the trim panel around the steering column with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket, then install the trim panel underneath the column with the 1/4-inch ratchet and socket.
