How to Get a Paper Round Job
- 1). Determine what kind of transportation is available to you. You won't be able to use public transportation and will need either a bike or a car to deliver newspapers.
- 2). Look on job listing websites and classified websites for local paper round jobs (see Resources section for examples).
Check the websites of local newspapers for advertised positions for delivery of their own papers. - 3). Find what kind of transportation each listing requires. Rule out any jobs that require a car if you don't have one.
- 4). Go to the newspaper office to fill out an application or apply online if that's an option.
Be very friendly and polite to any people at the newspaper office where you're filling out an application; make a good impression from the beginning.
On the application, emphasize your past delivery, house-to-house service or sales experience if you have any. This shows you have experience doing the kind of tasks that a paper round job requires. - 5). Go to an interview if you receive an invitation.
Dress neatly and be on time, friendly and polite. Describe any relevant experience if you have it. Demonstrate your ability to take on the responsibility of the job if you don't. Be sure to thank the interviewer at the end of the interview. - 6). Wait to hear if you got the job. The news will most likely come as a phone call.
