  • 1). Taste-test when color has developed and fruit has reached full size. Fruit should be crisp, juicy and flavorful.

  • 2). Pick by gently twisting the stem of the fruit. It should break easily from the wood.

  • 3). Eat Asian pears fresh or poached or use in baked dishes.

  • 4). Can or preserve Asian pears for longer storage.

  • 5). Asian pears can be kept in cold storage with generally high humidity for up to three months.
