How to Change the Serpentine Belt on a Toyota Spyder

    • 1). Open up the hood. Take a mental note of the drive belt routing pattern, or locate the sticker on the core support with the drive belt routing diagram.

    • 2). Locate the drive belt tensioner, which is on the left side of the engine block. Attach a socket to the breaker bar and turn the tensioner clockwise, releasing the tension on the serpentine belt. Pull the belt off of the pulleys, and discard it.

    • 3). Route the belt according to the belt routing diagram or what you took note of in step 1. Turn the tensioner clockwise with the breaker bar and socket, then run the belt around the tensioner. Release the tensioner so the belt is tight around the pulleys. Make sure there are no twists or kinks in the belt before you start the engine.
