The Parable of The Sower

101 35
Jesus sometimes taught through parables. Mathew 13:23.This one was about a man who sowed seeds on his farm. Some fell by the road side and they were devoured by the fowls. Others fell by the stones and because there was not much soil here, they had no chance of survival. Immediately they sprung up, they were scorched by the sun and withered as the roots were not firm enough. Others fell among thorns and when they sprung up, they were choked by the weeds and died. But all was not lost, some fell on good ground, they brought forth fruit, some a hundred fold, others sixty fold and thirty fold.

The seed is the word of God, the ground is the heart. When the seeds fell along the way, this is a heart that has no understanding of the word of God. When a word is planted in this place, the devil comes and snatches it away. The seeds on the stony ground are the word of God that gets into ones heart and immediately takes root. When trials and afflictions come because of the word, it dies away. You are unable to withstand persecution and therefore stand as a Christian. Those that fell on weeds are the word of God that is soaked into your heart but because of the cares of the world, it is choked.

But all was not lost. There was good ground somewhere. This is the person who is ready to forsake all for the sake of the word. He does not care whatever people will say or what he has to go through for the sake of the word. He is the one who bears fruit. Which category do you fall under?
