Cerifying a Diamond Throught the EGL (Mounted and Unmounted)

    • 1). Compose a letter of intent to the EGL (European Gemological Institute) including the service requested (certification) and return information (address and phone number). Provide as many details as possible about the diamond, e.g., weight, shape and setting if applicable.

    • 2). Secure the letter and jewelry in a heavily padded box or envelope. Use as much padding or bubble wrap as you feel is necessary to assure the safe arrival of your items.

    • 3). Ship the package by your preferred shipping method (U.S. Registered Mail, USPS, FedEx) to: 550 South Hill Street, Suite 740, Los Angeles, CA 90013. Insure your shipment and obtain a tracking number for it. With the tracking number, you track the shipment's arrival at the EGL lab. The insurance provides monetary support for a lost or damaged package.

    • 4). Wait four to five days to receive a call from the EGL confirming the arrival of your shipment. With this call, the EGL will also obtain your credit card information to charge for its services.

    • 5). You will receive your jewelry with its certification and description of characteristics within two weeks.
