Download the full Divx movie. Make sure the movie is fully downloaded or the DVD will be corrupted or not able to burn at all. Test the movie in a media player like VLC media player in order to make sure it works properly.

Open up Nero Start Smart. From the main menu, select the "DVD" option from the program's drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Click on the "Photo and Video" tab. The icon shows a Polaroid picture and a film strip. Click on the option that says "Make Your Own DVD-Video" and wait for the Nero Burning Rom to load.

Drag and drop the Divx movie file to the "Timeline" window of the new DVD project. The program will analyze the file to make sure that it is the proper format. A status bar on the bottom of the screen will indicate how much space is on the DVD. Add multiple Divx movie files as long as the progress bar stays below the space on the DVD.

Press the "Create Chapters" icon in order to separate the movie into different chapters. Label each chapter or leave them blank to have an automatic number chapter for the DVD.

Press the "Next" button in order to continue the DVD making process. The next screen will let you edit the menu for your DVD. Here you can double-click on the Menu screen in order to movie objects around, change the background, and set icons for each video on the DVD. Click on the musical note in order to add Background music to your DVD.

Press the "Next" button in order to see a preview of your DVD menu. Select the different icons and menu options in order to test out the menu. Press "Next" when you have completed this.

Place a blank DVD into your DVD burner. Once the burner has loaded the disc, click the "Burn" button to let the process begin. The process can take up to an hour depending on how long the video is. Once the DVD has finished burning, it will automatically eject from the DVD drive.
