Creative Ways to Evangelize

    Music

    • In the 1990s, Christian music was something that listeners either loved or hated. There was very little Christian music heard on secular radio stations because the focus was on praise and worship to God. Now, there are artists out there who have created a niche with discipleship music, music that has a Christian message that is subtle enough to be played on mainstream stations. If you want to reach someone who loves music, take time to find Christian music that will suit their tastes and ease them into receiving God's word.

    Random Acts of Christianity

    • When you are in public, make a conscious effort to find someone in need. While you are helping them, take the opportunity to discuss your faith with them. As long as you are careful to avoid coming across as better than the person you are helping, you may be the hand that reaches out to save them. If you are comfortable doing so, invite them to a worship service and remind them that they are welcome to come as they are if there is no dress code. It is also a good idea to have a list of outreach ministries in your area with you so you can help them find assistance that you cannot give.

    Phone Your Faith

    • Organize a cell phone evangelism event within your church. Ask the pastor for permission to make an announcement to the congregation asking each of them to find one contact in their cell phone and send a text message sharing an inspirational Bible verse with them. You can also use this concept for an ongoing ministry fundraiser within your church by having a group of members who will text someone randomly to share a message of hope and faith in exchange for a small donation.

    Meal Ministry

    • Begin a ministry within your church where members provide meals to families who are new in town, those who have recently experienced a loss, new parents and anyone else whose name is given to the church. When you do this, members of the church volunteer to make meals that can be delivered to the family and reheated as they need them. When you deliver the meals, include information on your church and a prayer card. Ask the family if they have a local church and offer to add them to your prayers. If they do not have a local church, invite them to a service when they are feeling up to it.

    Internet Evangelism

    • Choose a message that has universal appeal and post it online. If you don't consider yourself to be the kind of person who can evangelize face-to-face, consider taking your message to the Internet. When you create a blog or post videos to YouTube, you have the potential of reaching people in need throughout the world. Ministering to others in this way can be successful because there is no pressure on anyone. You do not feel the pressure to talk to people you know, and those in need may find you by doing a search online and hearing a message they desperately need.
