How do I Remove a Chevy Metro Dashboard?
- 1). Lift up the hood and prop it up on the safety bar. Locate the battery and remove the negative battery cable by loosening the retaining nut on top of it with a crescent wrench. Set it carefully aside, away from metal and the positive terminal.
- 2). Open the fuse panel cover on the lower part of the driver's side dash. Find the SRS or airbag fuses on the diagram located on the inside part of the panel cover. Remove the fuse puller from the panel and use it to remove the airbag fuses.
- 3). Open the glove box and remove all visible screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Squeeze the clips on the door and remove the glove box from the dash.
- 4). Pop off the radio's faceplate with a flathead screwdriver. Remove any screws holding the radio onto the dash using a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the radio forward and unplug the electrical wiring behind it. Remove the radio entirely from the dash.
- 5). Look for screws on the top of the dash near the windshield and on the lowest part of the dash. Remove all of these screws with a screwdriver. Open the side doors and remove the screws on the sides of the dash.
- 6). Pull the dashboard forward and unplug the wires behind it. Lift up all the way on the dash and slide it carefully out the passenger's side door.
