Fold a card stock sheet in half and crease it to make a large blank card. Choose a large envelope that will go with your card. If you're making smaller cards, choose an appropriate size envelope or cut the card down to fit the envelope. If using one card stock sheet to make two cards, cut the sheet in half, then fold each sheet in half again to make cards that measure 4 inches by 5-1/2 inches.

    • 2). Choose decorative paper and complimentary images for the theme of your card. Use glue to attach the decorative paper, cut a little smaller than the front of the card, and center it. Attach your image on top of the decorative paper with glue.

    • 3). Attach embellishments to your cards with a hot glue gun to give them 3-dimensional effects, adding texture and interest. These can include foam cutouts, buttons, beads, ribbons or other decorative accents. Lay embellishments on the card for proper placement before securing them with hot glue.

    • 4). Write a greeting, note or sentiment inside the card with journal pens or markers. You can write a few words on the front as well, if room permits. Insert the card into its envelope, address and mail it. Check with the post office for the correct postage on larger cards.
