When it comes to the Internet, people rely immensely on its proper functioning. Whether using the Internet for work or personal use, such as booking tickets online, where every second counts in order to get the best possible deal, browser functionality is crucial. In such situations, it is extremely frustrating when an Internet browser causes a bottleneck and disrupts connectivity. For browser issues, there are some general issues that might be encountered. - Encountering the phrase "This page cannot be displayed" is a fairly common issue faced by a number of users. The message is generally displayed whenever the Web browser cannot display a certain Web page. The two chief reasons that must be considered is that either the website could not be reached due to Internet connectivity issues or the browser settings did not allow the page contents to be displayed.
It is possible to investigate the root cause of this problem by first pinging the website from the command prompt to check if the connection is unstable. If the ping is successful and the connection is fine, the other issues that must be explored are whether the right Web address was typed and if the cache containing temporary Internet files has been cleared. - One of the more common warnings is displayed to Internet Explorer users who employ HTTPS instead of HTTP. The browser displays a message warning them that they are using a mixture of secure and non-secure sessions. This issue is generally experienced in older versions of Internet Explorer. It is safe to accept this warning. Later versions of Internet Explorer effectively eliminated the problem.
- Text does not consume substantial bandwidth resources and hence travels easily over Internet transmissions. On the other hand, multimedia content such as pictures and videos with sound require fairly large amounts of bandwidth and take a long time to travel over the line. Thus, the browser might take a while to display them. In some cases, it may be necessary to change the Internet settings to allow sounds and multimedia to be played. Problems can especially be prevalent in older computers with low amounts of RAM, or in computers with very low bandwidths.
