How to Remove Bumper Trim

    • 1). Wash the bumper trim thoroughly with a mixture of automotive soap and water. Use a rag. This will help get rid of any dirt and debris that may be on the bumper trim and make for easier removal. Allow the trim to dry, then apply degreaser with a rag. Cover the bumper trim to remove any remaining residue or grease. Wipe off the degreaser with water and a rag. Allow the trim to dry completely.

    • 2). Release any clips located on your bumper trim. The location of the clips may vary slightly depending on the make and model of car. Some vehicles may not have clips. Releasing the clips will enable the bumper to snap off once any screws have been removed.

    • 3). Unscrew any screws holding the bumper trim in place using a screwdriver. Depending on the make and model of the car, the number and location of screws may vary. Some bumpers trim may just be held in place by adhesive, with no screws.

    • 4). Gently pry off the bumper trim with a flathead screwdriver. Begin at one end and carefully begin removing the trim. Be careful not to damage the car. When enough has been peeled off, gently pull up on the trim and remove the rest by hand. If the trim breaks off, begin again at the new section of trim.

    • 5). Clean the area. Use a non-corrosive adhesive and paper towels to remove any grease or residue that may remain. Allow the area to dry completely.
