How to View Parts of a Corrupt Video File

    • 1). Click "Start" and select "Programs."

    • 2). Open "Accessories" and click "Command Prompt."

    • 3). Type "chkdsk x: /r" and press "Enter," replacing "x" with the letter of the drive containing the corrupt video file. This scans and repairs the information on the drive (if possible).

    • 4). Right click "Start," click "Explore," and navigate to the folder containing the video file.

    • 5). Right-click the file, select "Open with," and select the program you wish to use to view the file.
