    • 1). Remove the old shower head with an adjustable wrench. Turn the shower head counterclockwise until it is easy to turn by hand. Continue turning until the shower head is loose. Dispose of the old shower head.

    • 2). Wet a clean cloth with vinegar and wipe the pipe threads by wrapping the cloth around the threads and turning in a circle. Scrub the pipe threads with a steel wool pad all around the circumference of the pipe. Wipe any excess moisture off with paper towels. Let the pipe threads air dry thoroughly.

    • 3). Wrap three revolutions of Teflon tape on the pipe threads in a clockwise direction. Wrap the tape tightly and press into the pipe threads.

    • 4). Screw the handheld shower attachment onto the pipe threads in a clockwise direction. Hand tighten as much as possible. Place a towel over the attachment and use an adjustable wrench to complete.

    • 5). Squirt a thick application of water resistant glue on the back of the wall mount bracket that holds the shower head. Place 6 to 8 inches to one side of the fixed shower head position. Press into place.

    • 6). Wrap the exterior of the wall bracket with masking tape. This will hold the bracket in place until the glue dries fully. Allow the glue to dry for 24 hours before placing the handheld shower head in the bracket and using the shower.
