    • 1). Reverse the amplifier's polarity. If the JBL EON works with another JBL speaker in at PA system, the two speakers may have opposite polarities. This can cause the low frequency output to sound muddy or distorted. Press the small black button above the cable jacks to reverse the speakers' polarity.

    • 2). Unplug and re-insert all cable connections to the amplifier. There may be a loose cable connection to the amplifier. If your speaker does not produce any output this could be the case. Unplug all signal cables in the back of the EON. Unscrew the tops at the ends of the cables by rotating them counter-clockwise. Look for any signs of wear inside. If the cable looks worn out, replace it with a new one. Replug all signal cables into the amplifier and make sure they're secure. Play audio through the speaker and analyze the results.

    • 3). Check for a signal input on the amplifier's LED light. The EON may not be producing sound because it has no sound input. Several lights will light up on the back of the speaker when it receives audio. If no light appears, the speaker has not received a signal. The problem then lies with your mixer and sound sources.

    • 4). Remove the speaker cone from the amplifier cabinet. If the EON does not produce any sound, the problem could be faulty wiring to the speaker cone. Remove the speaker grille by unscrewing the screws at the four corners of the amplifier. Pull off the grille slowly to avoid any damage to the cone. Pull out the speaker cone from it's casing. Examine all wires connected to the cone. If any of them look worn out they should be re-soldered or replaced. Also examine the wiring throughout the speaker cabinet. This wiring will also need replaced if it looks worn out.

    • 5). Check for damage to the speaker input jacks. If the amplifier sound cuts in and out, it could be from damaged inputs. Look for chips or discoloration on all jacks on the back of the amplifier. A tiny dent can have very large effects on the sound quality from the speaker.
