How to Change From Gravel to Sand
- 1). Place dirt sifter over the wheel barrel and shovel gravel onto the sifter. Shake sifter to allow loose dirt to drop through, and toss gravel into a designated area. Continue this process until all gravel is removed. Pour dirt back onto ground and smooth over with shovel.
- 2). Place mesh fabric over the dirt. Mesh is a fabric that allows water to pass through the fabric while creating a barrier between two surfaces.
- 3). Line the outer perimeter of the mesh fabric with bricks. Large rocks work as well, but bricks can be stacked around the sanded area neatly to create a solid wall.
- 4). Pour sand over mesh fabric. Pour sand within the brick surround, and smooth with a shovel. Continue to pour sand until it is level with the top of the brick.
