    • The Timken Company started in 1899 in St. Louis, Missouri, and it acquired The Torrington Company in 2003. Timken specializes in antifriction bearings and accessories. A bearing is a component that permits constrained relative movement between two different components, and usually this movement is either linear or rotational. You can purchase Timken products from the company's online store or from local distributors.

    CJ

    • The CJ series of bearings comprises spherical roller bearings that have a stamped steel window cage. The dimensions of the bearings in this class range from a 0.98-inch to 7.87-inch bore. This bearing balances out static and dynamic misalignments, and you can use this bearing for gear drives and continuous casters. You can also use weldments as opposed to complex castings for your housing frame. A weldment is a component made up of welded pieces.

    Radial

    • The radial spherical plain bearings have a bore range of between 0.5 inches and 23.622 inches. The ring is made of steel, and the phosphate treated rings are covered with molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). This bearing can operate at temperatures up to 392 degrees Fahrenheit. You can use this bearing for dump and steering cylinders, A-frames and rear/front struts, and it is mainly for moving radial loads. It will, however, work with minor misalignments. You can purchase these bearings in either sealed or un-sealed versions, and you can buy these with double fracture outer rings.

    TXR

    • The precision crossed roller bearing (TXR) is used in vertical grinding machines, machine tools and vertical boring mills. It comes with two sets of racers and rollers, and these sets meet at right angles. The alternate rollers also look in opposite directions, according to the Timken website. It offers the same benefits as a two row bearing, except that it only takes up one row. It has an ID bore range of between 8 inches and 97 inches, and an OD range of between 11 inches and 111 inches. Use this bearing with machine tools, pedestal environments and pivot applications, especially if you don't have a lot of space to work with.

    Flexpin

    • The integrated flexpin bearing comes with pins that are only located on a single wall of the carrier, and this type of bearing works with industrial, agricultural, mining and aerospace gear drives. It diminishes or even takes away completely any gear misalignment created by carrier deflection. It also improves overall torque capacity. You can use lighter gears with this bearing since the bearing helps diminish overall gear load.
