The room of an hotel is one of the least places that you may expect to find germs and this conclusion is mainly due to the assumption that it is professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
However, partly due to the volume of people a room accommodates, germs can be found on the telephone, comforter and remote control, just to mention a few.
With this in mind, you can do a few things to protect yourself during the stay.
You can walk with a sheet: You may not be too quick to follow this tip, but it is worth considering.
When you are staying at in an hotel room, walk with a sheet or two from home to cover the mattress.
You do not have to take off all of the sheets from the bed, especially if someone will be cleaning the room on a daily basic.
Instead, take off the comforter, fold it and place it in a corner, then cover the other sheets with the one or two you brought with you.
Do a quick wipe around the room: Walk with some wipes and do a careful wipe off the telephone, the television set, and the remote control.
After that, you can wipe anything else that you desire.
Do not walk barefooted: Do not walk barefooted around the room and do not walk in it with the same footwear that you used on the outside, instead, put on a pair of socks or slippers.
Put luggage on rack: As for your luggage, do not place it on the bed, floor, or tabletop because it would have picked up many germs along the way.
Instead, use the luggage racks that the hotel offers.
Wash your hands: Wash your hands with soap, when you are in the room.
