    • 1). Open the passenger door on the 2000 Ford Ranger and roll the window down.

    • 2). Locate the mirror access panel on the left side of the inner door panel. It is on the opposite side of where the mirror mounts to the Ranger's door.

    • 3). Pull the cover off the inner door panel by pulling on it. Ford did not use bolts to secure the panel. Rather, they opted for small plastic tabs molded onto the backside of the panel that press into the door panel.

    • 4). Locate and remove the three nuts located behind the access panel with a deep well socket and ratchet.

    • 5). Pull the mirror out of the Ranger's passenger door. Take caution not to scratch the paint with the threaded inserts molded into the mating surface of the mirror housing.

    • 6). Slide the threaded inserts of the new mirror into the door and secure the mirror into place with the three nuts.

    • 7). Place the mirror access panel against the inner door panel and secure it in place by pushing on it to push the tabs on the backside into the door pane.
