How to Connect DirecTV to a Projection TV
- 1). Power down your television and DirecTV receiver. If you have the two devices on while you connect them, you may get shocked.
- 2). Connect the DirecTV to the cable running from the satellite dish (if it is not currently connected). The cable is plugged into the "In" port on the DirecTV receiver.
- 3). Plug either a coaxial cable into the "Out" port of the receiver or insert the red, white and yellow RCA cables into the "Video Out" port. RCA cables are going to provide better picture and audio quality, so if your projection television has RCA ports, it may be a good decision to go with the RCA cabling.
- 4). Insert the other end of the coaxial cable into the "In" port on the projection television. If using RCA cables, connect them to the "Video In" port on the set. Make sure the colors of the cables match the colors of the ports.
- 5). Power on the projection television and the DirecTV receiver. Adjust your television to channel 3 or 4 (depending on the TV's default settings) to view the DirecTV signal while using the coaxial cable. If you are using RCA cables, you need to press the "Video" button on the TV or remote control to change the projection TV's display from the tuner to the "Video In" port.
