How to Do an Oil Change on a 2003 Durango
- 1). Raise the front of the 2003 Dodge Durango off the ground using the jack and rest the Dodge on the two jack stands.
- 2). Place the drain pan under the oil pan and remove the plug from the bottom of the oil pan using the 5/8 socket and ratchet.
- 3). Replace the plug to the bottom of the oil pan once the oil has completely drained into the drain container. Place the oil filter remover around the oil filter and turn the oil filter remover in a counterclockwise motion to remove the filter from the engine.
- 4). Fill the new oil filter with engine oil (about 1/2 quart) and screw it back onto the engine using your hand. Remove the drain pan from under the Durango. Remove the jack stands, then use the jack to lower the Durango down to the ground.
- 5). Open the hood and remove the black cap that says "OIL." Pour 4 1/2 quarts of engine oil into the engine. Replace the cap and close the hood.
