How to Pour Concrete on Bare Wood
- 1). Combine 1 part cement with 3 parts masonry sand in a 5-gallon bucket. Mix the dry ingredients together with a trowel.
- 2). Moisten the dry ingredients in the 5-gallon bucket with a hose and mix again until the mixture has the consistency of pancake batter. Set the bucket aside.
- 3). Brush off the bare wood with a masonry brush and vacuum it with a hose attachment to get all the dirt and dust off the bare wood.
- 4). Pour concrete bonding agent over the bare wood, in between the forms that shape your concrete. Spread the bonding agent with a roller to make a smooth layer. Immediately retrieve the 5-gallon bucket and pour the concrete onto the wood, over the bonding agent.
- 5). Set the 5-gallon bucket aside or immediately rinse the bucket thoroughly, then mix another ratio of 1 part cement to 3 parts sand in the bucket for more concrete to pour, if necessary.
- 6). Smooth the surface of the concrete with a trowel and let the concrete set for 24 hours before removing the forms with a claw hammer, pulling out the nails holding the forms together.
