Spanish Verb Translation Activities
- Quia provides over thousands of Spanish language activities in a variety of different formats. Students can use their search function to search for specific types of verb activities, or can select from the list of subcategories such as "-ar verbs", "irregular verbs", or "stem changing verbs." There are quizzes which ask students to translate verbs and select the correct response, flashcard and concentration games, jumbled words where players must unscramble correct translations of verbs, and clozes, where players must translate verbs to fill in the blank of a sentence.
- Students will find a plethora of verb games at Digital Dialects to practice their translation skills. Games are sorted by verb tense into categories such as infinitive, present indicative and indicative. Students can then select a specific verb to practice translating, or they can select a large list of verbs to work on. After refreshing their knowledge of different verbs, students can select "Play game" to test their knowledge. The game presents players with a verb and asks them to match it to the correct English translation, continuing for a set of four words. Feedback is provided, and players can move on to the next set of verbs. Several of the games also have audio accompanying each Spanish verb.
- Students can test their verb translation skills using this extensive array of Spanish verb quizzes. Topics are separated by verb tense (e.g., present, imperfect) and then further into different types such as regular or irregular verbs. Students can generate a unique quiz with 10 to 25 different questions, and then must practice translating and conjugating verbs. Buttons to add accented characters to the words are located under each question, making translations easy and accurate.
- This program is available to download free of charge and comes loaded with interactive games to help users learn Spanish verbs. One game in the program is an electronic version of the card game Memory, where players must match up Spanish verbs with their English counterparts. In Spell 'Em, the program will begin spelling a phrase out loud, and players must type each letter as it is being spoken. Many more types of games from word puzzles to hangman are also included with the program.
