How to Fix a Wet Nokia 6102I Cell Phone
- 1). Remove the cell phone from the water immediately. The longer the phone stays in the water, the better the chances are of it being unsalvageable.
- 2). Remove the battery as soon as you have the phone out of the water.
- 3). Remove the SIM card if there is one. (Typically, in the U.S., T-Mobile and AT&T phones have SIM cards.) Even if the phone can't be salvaged, the data stored on the SIM card may be recovered.
- 4). Shake the phone (holding on to it carefully) to remove as much water as possible.
- 5). Use paper towels to dry out as much of the remaining water as possible.
- 6). Let the phone sit someplace warm and dry. If desired, you can put it on top of a source of low heat, such as a television set. Alternately, you can set it in a bowl of dry rice, which absorbs water. Give it at least 3 days to dry thoroughly.
- 7). Replace the SIM card and battery and turn on the phone. If the phone does not turn on, it is probably unsalvageable. You can bring it in to a dealer to see if data can be recovered from the SIM card.
