My 1995 Dodge Avenger Won't Start

    • 1). Stick the key in the ignition and try to turn it on. Turn your steering wheel to the left and right to make sure that the steering column is locked in place. If it locks in place, try to start the car again.

    • 2). Check the battery to make sure it has a charge. Turn the key in the ignition to turn on the interior lights of the vehicle. If the lights come on, the battery has a charge. If they do not come on, you will need to get a jump start to charge up your battery.

    • 3). Check to see if your Avenger has enough fuel. Turn the key to the "Accessories" position and check the fuel gauge. If your gauge shows that the tank is low on fuel, try putting at least one gallon of gas in the gas tank.

    • 4). Check the fluid levels for the motor oil, transmission fluid and coolant. Top off any fluids that appear to be low.
