Cat Bite Shoes PTSD Out the Window

Those of us with PTSD have to be aware of ourselves inside and out.
Important little things in life happen sometimes quietly without a shout.

Here is a tip to share from the revelation of being bitten by my feral cat.
It happened in a tender, gentle moment while grooming him as he sat.

This is just like how being still in the Lord can bring answers to your heart.
Meditation in a quiet place is grooming of our soul, giving us a jump-start.

What happened next was really, quite unexpected.
It took most of the day to be internalized and reflected.

There was annoyance in my heart while I stroked the brush from head to tail.
The actions intended to cleanse, Marcel, the cat immediately took to fail.

Instead of a loving and kind caress to my hand, he bit my arm!
The instantaneous reaction was to shoe him out the glass door in alarm.

A trusted friend explained the situation as, "But you know, he's just a cat."
The situation prompted self-reflection on why Marcel was such a brat.

At first, it was thought that he just may not have wanted to be groomed.
After all animals and pets have feelings we must assume.

The strategy that came to mind was maybe God has something to say to me.
Tools in wisdom learned prompted some research of the cause to make me free.

To counteract this situation a positive affirmation was revealed.
This bite represented life pointing to me internal trauma was not healed.

In this quiet reflection of the heart came the answer sought in sorrow.
A change in attitude was needed today to make a healed tomorrow.

Perhaps it was no coincidence that God uses animals in Scripture.
He uses them to inspire and teach to give us a better picture.

In Galatians 4, 3:19 it is revealed the help of Angels ordained in His hand.
Angels were also sent to close the mouths of lions for Daniel's life, so grand.

It was through their watching over me that God granted the remedy to me.
There were two instructions ordered by the Great Physician, you see.

The first was to forgive myself from actions of the past.
Once released the trauma could no longer last.

The second was to truly love myself, indeed.
Now with grace given I accept my lessons and gratefully heed!
