How to Do Internet Sharing With the Motorola I9
- 1). Obtain the Internet connection settings from your cellular service provider. You will need the dialing number, user name and password. You can find the settings in the support section of your carrier's website, or by calling technical support.
- 2). Download and install the Motorola USB driver from the Motorola website.
- 3). Press the "Menu" key and open the "Settings" menu.
- 4). Select "Connections" and open "USB." Verify it is set to "Data Modem." Press the "END" key to return to the main screen.
- 5). Plug the USB data cable into the charging port on your i9. Plug the other end into your computer. The computer will detect the phone as a Motorola USB modem.
- 6). Click the "Start" button on the Windows task bar and open "Control Panel."
- 7). Open the "Network and Sharing Center" and click "Set up a new connection or network."
- 8). Highlight "Set up a dial-up connection" and click "Next." If your computer prompts you to select a modem, choose the Motorola USB modem.
- 9). Enter the Dial-up phone number, user name and password. Check the "Remember this password" box if you don't want to enter the password every time.
