Cast on 60 stitches.

Knit shawl in seed stitch (knit 3 stitches, purl 3 stitches and continue to end of row).

Knit 3 stitches, then purl 3 stitches and continue to end of row.

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until shawl measures approximately 50 inches long.

Cast off, clip excess yarn, and weave in loose ends.

Add fringe, if desired. Clip yarn into 3-inch lengths and collect in equal sized bundles. Attach bundles evenly around shawl, securing with an overhand knot.
