So, you have a pool party to go to and you're sick of being ghost white.
You've never tanned before and you don't have time to go to a salon, but you got a bottle of tanning lotion.
Now, what do you do with it? Well, the first thing you want to do is make sure that you aren't at all sweaty or dirty.
Otherwise the tan will splotch and streak.
So, take a cool shower and use a sponge or scrubby to gently exfoliate your skin.
Then, get out of the shower and dry off thoroughly.
Now, you should either be naked or else wearing underwear or a swim suit that you never plan to wear outside the house again.
That's because tanning lotions will permanently stain clothes or towels if you don't allow them to soak in fully before you get dressed.
Also, prior to using the tanning lotion, you'll need to have found either a long handled brush that you don't care about staining or a friend who doesn't mind applying the lotion to the back of your body.
If you choose a friend, they may want some plastic gloves, since they may not want their hands to be tan.
Once you have the tanning lotion on, allow it to totally soak into your skin before you get dressed.
You should see your skin fully tanned within an hour.
However, all products are a bit different.
So, be sure to follow the directions on the bottle for the right results.
