How to Ripen Fruit in a Paper Bag
- 1). Place the unripe fruit into a paper bag. Add an optional banana or apple to speed up the ripening even more.
- 2). Fold the top of the paper bag over twice to close the bag while still allowing for space in the bag for air circulation.
- 3). Set the paper bag on a counter at room temperature out of direct sunlight.
- 4). Check the fruit daily and remove any which begin to feel soft to the touch and have a fragrant aroma as those have become ripe.
- 5). Refrigerate any fully ripened fruit but leave the unripened fruit at room temperature in the bag until it becomes ripe.
