Features for the MDA Vario
- Introduced in 2008, the MDA Vario is the European brand name for the HTC Wizard 200. An Internet-capable pocket PC smartphone from the High Tech Computer Corporation of Taiwan, the unit offers several ideal features for every user. T-Mobile is the only provider of the phone in Europe and the United States.
- The camera for the Vario takes images with a screen resolution of 1600 x 1280 at 1.3 megapixels. To access the camera, users either launch the feature from the "Today" screen or use the camera button on the side of the unit. When the phone is held in landscape position like a typical camera, the camera button lines up under your trigger finger. The camera has a zoom feature and a flash unit as well as a shutter sound if desired. In addition to still photos, the Vario camera takes video at a variety of settings, allowing for variation in lighting, quality and memory size.
- The Vario is equipped with Windows Mobile 5.0. This offers persistent storage, allowing for constant backup of your documents and eliminating lost data problems of earlier smartphones. Windows allows for integrated voice control that offers more than just speed dial. You can voice activate a program or an action. The Windows software comes with MS Word Mobile, Excel and PowerPoint, and allows you to write documents that can be opened and edited on any PC or Mac.
- The Vario has Wi-Fi capabilities and detects available hot spots. Once connected, web surfing is done via Microsoft's Internet Explorer and can be achieved in either landscape or portrait mode with the web images reduced for full-screen viewing. If desired, change the viewing options to allow a "one column" view. Using the Windows Media Player, the Vario displays videos directly from the web or plays downloaded movies on a full-screen setting.
