The 101 Network Continues to Deliver Fans Exclusive Shows
While it is still new and considered a fledgling network by most standards, The 101 Network is quickly making a name for itself.
The network is home to tons of original music programming, from interviews with up and coming artists to live concerts from some of the world's biggest acts.
The channel also airs a number of original television shows, from a trivia show that pits some of music's biggest acts against one another in a charity trivia showdown to a small claims court run by Jamie Kennedy that uses celebrity comedians to argue each side of the case.
One of the biggest things the channel has gained notoriety for, however, has been the early return of Friday Night Lights.
The show was originally cancelled, but a strong viewer campaign was able to convince the network to give the show a third season.
In a very surprising move, The 101 Network announced that they would begin airing the new season this past October, a full three months before the show was set to premiere on its own network.
Fans quickly flocked to order the channel.
While one might think that the 101 Network might be hard pressed to top that kind of early success, it seems that the Friday Night Lights incident served to help write the formula for how the channel would run.
The 101 recently announced that in January of 2009 they would air the entire eight episode run of the show Wonderland, of which only two episodes ever made it to air.
Wonderland was considered ahead of its time when it aired briefly in 2000, and it was met with a mix of strong praise and strong controversy.
It was considered too dark for network television and was quickly pulled.
When The 101 Network airs the episodes, each will feature opening commentary from the creator and executive producer of the show, Peter Berg, who also happens to be the producer of Friday Night Lights.
The show revolves around the lives of a group of doctors in a New York psychiatric hospital.
It shows the complications that arise when trying to care for these patients while balancing parenthood, marriage, divorce, and all of the other things that life throws at them.
The critically acclaimed drama has six episodes that have never been seen before and fans are anxiously awaiting its return to television.
Wonderland will begin airing on Wednesday nights at 10 PM Eastern in high definition and commercial free.
The show will follow the season three finale of Friday Night Lights.
While Friday Night Lights will air on network television in early 2009, The 101 is the only place to watch Wonderland in its entirety.
