Horseback riding is not only a great way for your child to gain confidence, but to also gain respect for and build a healthy relationship with her peers, and with horses. You will find quite a variety of summer camps for girls throughout the United States that focus on riding, grooming, showing and handling horses. - At Rockbrook, the girls ages 6 to 16 stay in open air cabins that sleep between 8 to 10 campers. Cabins are filled according to age group and are staffed with two counselors per group. Bath houses are located near each group of cabins, and the campers' dirty laundry is taken care of once a week. A typical day at Rockbrook includes 3 full meals plus snacks, scheduled activities throughout the day with intermittent rest time and free time in between. Activities are based upon each camper's age, size and skill level to ensure safety and the ability to advance their skills. The girls will work on basic riding skills, advanced skills such as trotting and showing skills like jumping. Campers may also opt into the stable club where they will learn about grooming and basic horse care.
