Cutting carbohydrates from your diet can be difficult.
There seem to be loads of carbs in most of our food sources, and even in those food items that we normally wouldn't expect to have any.
Eating less carbs will not only help you carve out lean muscle, but it will also help you avoid the routine crashes mainly experience throughout the day due to carb overload.
To reduce the amount of carbs you are eating on a daily basis, you need to remain actively aware of every food item that you put in your body.
Seven simple ways that will help you naturally avoid large carb intakes include: 1.
Choosing a Wrap For those who frequently grab a breakfast sandwich, or a sub sandwich during their lunch break, there is a good chance they are overloading on their needed daily carb intake.
Instead of eating you favorite sandwich on bread, consider trying it on a tortilla or on a lettuce wrap.
Both options provide flavorful alternatives, and will reduce the amount of carbs you are eating.
2.
Low-Carb Breads If you don't feel like you can't skip your toast in the morning or the sandwich during lunch, change your bread to help you cut carbs.
Many weightloss programs, and even certain wholesale bakeries, have introduced low-calorie options that are high in fiber and lower in carbs than normal breads.
Always choose whole wheat, lower calorie breads over white breads.
3.
Skip the Breading When you cook your fish, poultry, or pork, try grilling, steaming, or baking it lightly seasoned instead of baking or frying it with breading.
Although breading does provide a nice texture and flavor, the breading itself tends to require unhealthy cooking methods and is loaded with carbs which isn't good for your mid-section.
4.
White Potatoes Although white potatoes contain complex carbs that are easier for your body to break down, they still carry too high a number of carbs for anyone trying to reduce carb intake.
Try switching out your white potatoes for sweet potatoes, or cauliflower for your basic mashed potatoes.
The flavor of each veggie is great, and they have a lower carb content.
5.
Low-Carb Pasta Just like loaf bread, you should always choose whole wheat, low carb pasta over white pasta.
There are several varieties of whole wheat pasta, but it is best to always look at labels to make sure you are getting the one with the lowest carb pasta available.
6.
Watch Your Dairy Products Although dairy products have a great protein content, certain dairy products - such as yogurt - can be surprisingly high in sugar and in carbs.
Always review the labels before you buy any dairy products to make sure that you are not buying a product that is secretly giving you high amounts of sugar and carbs.
7.
Reduce Beer Consumption Alcohol consumption in general will prohibit weightloss, but those who drink beer and the reason for this is the large amount of carbs found in If you have to have that drink with the guys or girls, consider ordering a mixed drink like a whiskey and diet coke instead of a beer, or just drink one beer instead of two.
