I Still Do Not Trust E-Commerce!
maybe it is because of the common Indian apprehension that dwells in me too! Like my father, or my uncle, my mathematics professor or my dance teacher, e-commerce has not yet made way to my shopping practices.
We Indians have always been conservative when it comes to giving out our personal details and when it comes to money, we will definitely not want to take a risk! Giving out credit card details to some unknown entity...
is seems to be just a preposterous idea! What is the guarantee that I will not be fooled, or what if my personal bank information is stolen! Though the scenario is increasingly getting better, no doubts that the uncertainties still prevail.
It's is quite tough for the online business giants to penetrate to the masses who are still the major buying force in the country.
Yes, some people do prefer shopping online but the majority of shoppers do not even know what they are supposed to do to shop online! Blame it on the existing computer illiteracy in India.
Even many members from educated families do not know to operate a computer! Astonishing but true! When I was growing to online shopping or e-commerce, my father warned me about the forthcoming danger that he could foresee.
Danger of my credit card details being stolen and misused by individuals or organizations.
He is just not a game for using credit cards and online shopping portals.
Maybe this is the reason why small but firm seeds of doubt have grown to be much serious concerns in my mind Now that I'm earning well and spend thousands in a whiff, I still prefer a drive to the nearest shopping malls and getting all the things required.
I don't know how many people think like me, I can still say, the number is not too less! There are many who are not only concerned about their personal details being stolen but also are not too sure about the shipping methods these online stores follow.
With so many online stores and brands trying to get a strong foothold in the Indian consumer market, the challenge really remains to earn the trust of Indian consumers.
There has to be some marketing strategies adopted by these companies, which will let the common mass, know of the authenticity of their business transactions.
Indians move on trust, and when a company earns that, their business for sure sees success.
