Anaesthesia is not just given right away because it can cause problems as well, your heart rate will be checked before inducing anaesthesia along with your blood pressure and oxygenation.

You will also be given medications that will make your heart relax and later on stop pumping. This way your surgeon will have the chance to do coronary artery bypass graft efficiently. It will be hard to do coronary artery bypass graft if your heart is still moving. You don't have to worry though that your heart is stopped because there will be a machine that will do the work for your heart. It is called the heart-lung bypass machine. The machine will serve as your heart while you are on coronary artery bypass graft, so there is no way that blood circulation will be impeded for several hours. Normal circulation would still continue and your organs will still be filled with the blood needed along with the nutrients and oxygen required for our body to function well.

After coronary artery bypass graft operation, your heart will now function as expected. Although, some would require electric shocks to function again but this is all done with precaution, so there is nothing to be worried about. By the time your heart is able to do its part then you will be removed to the machine.

Just like any other surgery, there will be changes such as pain and some discomforts. Although this could be very hard at first but you can surely get through this. Just keep in mind that this is all for your well-being. Be sure that you follow and obey all of the things that your medical team would ask you to do.
