    • 1). Connect the iPhone to your computer using the USB cable, then launch iTunes by clicking its icon on the desktop. ITunes will detect your iPhone and add it to the "Devices" list in the left pane.

    • 2). Select the iPhone from the "Devices" list and click the "Info" tab in the main iTunes window. Check the "Sync Contacts with" box at the top of the Info tab. If you are using a Windows PC, select "Windows Contacts" from the drop-down menu. If you use a Mac, select "Address Book."

    • 3). Click the "Sync" button in the lower right corner of the iTunes window. Your iPhone's address book entries will be copied to your computer.

    • 4). Launch the "Contacts" application on your Windows PC by selecting it from the "Accessories" folder in the Start menu. Launch "Address Book" on the Mac by clicking its icon on the desktop.

    • 5). Click the "Create New Group" button in "Contacts" or "Address Book," and give your new group a name such as "Colleagues" or "Family." Click the "OK" button to save the new group. Add additional groups in the same manner.

    • 6). Drag and drop entries from the "All Contacts" group into the new groups as required. The "All Contacts" group will contain all the address book entries copied across from the iPhone.

    • 7). Click the "Sync" button in iTunes once you've finished organizing your contacts on the computer. Your new contact group(s) will be synced to the iPhone and the existing entries moved into their groups.
