How to Get Artwork for Your iPod for Free
- 1). Launch iTunes.
- 2). Click "Advanced," then click "Get Album Artwork." iTunes will search for artwork for the songs in your library automatically. Alternatively, right click on any file and click "Get Album Artwork" to search for the artwork for only that song. Note that you must have an iTunes account for this feature to work. However, you do not need to have a payment method on file or make a purchase to get the artwork. If iTunes is able to find the artwork for all of your songs, stop here. If some songs are still missing artwork, continue.
- 3). Sort your iTunes library by album title so the tracks in each album are grouped together. Click the first track in an album, hold the "Shift" key, and click the last track. Right click on any highlighted file and click "Get Info." A window labeled "Multiple Item Information" will open. Drag this window to the side of the screen.
- 4). Open a Web browser and position it so that the "Artwork" section of the "Multiple Item Information" window is visible.
- 5). Browse to amazon.com, images.google.com, cduniverse.com, or any other Web site with a large number of CD images.
- 6). Type the name of the album into the search box for the site that you are using. You may need to click on a link in the search results page to see a full-sized version of the album cover.
- 7). Click the album cover and drag it to the "Artwork" box visible on the side of the screen. The album cover will appear on the box. Click "OK" to have the artwork added to the highlighted songs.
- 8). Connect your iPod to the computer and allow it to be recognized by iTunes. Click the iPod icon on the left side of the screen, then click the "Music" tab.
- 9). Remove the check from the box labeled "Sync Music" and re-sync your iPod. This will temporarily remove the synced music from the iPod, allowing you to replace the songs with the new versions containing album art. Replace the check and sync the iPod again. The new album art is displayed when the songs are played.
