Born in Dallas, Texas on February 26, 1971, Erykah Badu has won numerous awards in her career, including four Grammys, three Soul Train Music Awards, and three Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards. She has also been honored with two BET Awards, two NAACP Image Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and one American Music Award.
Badu launched her recording career in 1997 with her debut album Baduizm which was certified triple platinum featuring the number one singles "On and On" and "Next Lifetime."
