Ahoy, Ahoy mates! It's time to bring in the sails and dock the boat for that pirate birthday party your child has been dreaming ever since he/she saw that exciting pirate movie.
Whether it's "Captain Hook and Peter Pan" or a "Pirates of the Caribbean" party, these ideas for party decorating and supplies will be a hit for any pirate theme you choose.
First off, you are going to want to decide on the theme and colors to be used for decoration.
After doing this, it will be much easier to determine the supplies you will need.
Just imagine black and gold balloons and streamers hanging over the door with a black sign that says "Enter at your own risk".
Find a large cardboard box and cut off two of the flaps to create swinging doors and paste the sign to the box.
This first entrance will set the mood and create the atmosphere you are looking for when guests start arriving.
You can also create a treasure chest out of a cardboard box as well.
With a little use of scissors, some glue, and creativity, you will have a treasure chest in no time.
One of the best places to plan a pirate birthday is on an outdoor deck because a deck can easily be transferred into a boat deck.
It's an excellent location for your party.
If you don't have an open deck then you may want to consider scene setters.
These are a great tool to help turn a room into a boat setting, or a dock if you choose.
It's story time! Story time is great for gathering the kids and reading them an ancient pirate treasure story.
This can take the place of a game or can also be used to take up time when children are waiting for a parent to come pick them up.
If you aren't very good at keeping kids attention with your animation, you can also get a relative or friend that is great at playing animation and games with kids.
This is great for any age group, adults include.
Fun games are going to be top on the list since keeping all those kid's occupied is going to be a big job and require a lot of time and attention.
This is why creating a game that will last for more than ten minutes and keep the kids entertained is a great idea.
One of the best and most popular games to cover all of those needs is going to be a treasure hunt.
It's perfect for the theme and will occupy the kids for well over fifteen minutes.
This game does require more preparation, but once the party is here you will be able to relax more than trying to keep the kids occupied by playing selecting another game choice.
